Yunnan Provincial Museum is a comprehensive museum in China. Kunming is located in center, was built in August 1951.

Museum collections more than 50,000 pieces of cultural relics, historical relics which nearly 30,000 (Bronze nearly 10,000), more than 7200 pieces of revolutionary relics, the heritage of ethnic minorities of about 10,000, more than 4400 pieces of arts and crafts.

The Museum's collection of historical relics from the vast majority of archaeological excavations. The basic display of the museum is "to display the history of the slave society in Yunnan," on display in Yunnan Bronze Age more than 800 pieces of cultural relics, Yunnan introduced the distribution of bronze culture, class relations, social production activities, spiritual and cultural practices and living conditions. "Yunnan minority Pungmul chi" is a display of more than 3,000 pieces of cultural relics of ethnic minorities. Thematic display of "primitive society in Yunnan Province", "slave society in Yunnan Province", "Yunnan's modern history," "Red Army had Yunnan history" and so on. The library also hosted "From Ape to Man," "Ancient Ceramics," "Ancient Paintings" in dozens of exhibitions.

In 1984, the museum exhibition in Tokyo, Japan Bronze, Nagoya exhibition in 1986 in Zurich, Switzerland, and Vienna, Austria on display.

The library published the "Tonggu Yunnan Museum catalog", "Yunnan　Hill Jinning tombs excavated report", "Painting and Calligraphy set to play", "Yunnan bronze Essays", "Yunnan bronze" and other monographs.

In 2007, Yunnan Province, the museum as a national cultural heritage protection work of art collective, and by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage recognition.
